Biography

Mr. Webber joins the firm after 25 years experience in a boutique commercial law firm representing lenders that include national, regional, and local financial institutions, as well as private investors in the recovery and liquidation of assets through enforcement of secured transactions in Federal District, Bankruptcy and State Courts. Concentrations include Bankruptcy Chapters 7, 11 and 13, adversary proceedings regarding discharge, preference and lien perfection/avoidance, foreclosure proceedings, commercial and residential evictions, commercial and consumer repossession, collateral liquidation, construction litigation, general business/corporate litigation (international and domestic) and appellate practice. Mr. Webber advises daily on routine business matters including enforceability issues in contracts, liens, leases, purchase orders, shipping (international and domestic), and receiving as general counsel for a mid-sized company.

Mr. Webber has served on various committees including the Steering Committee of the United States Bankruptcy Court Western District of Tennessee, Ad Hoc Judicial Committee for reopening bankruptcy court due to Covid-19 Pandemic from 2021 to the present. He has served as a Liaison Committee member of the United States Bankruptcy Court Western District of Tennessee between the bar and the bench for local bankruptcy issues since 2010.  As a Bankruptcy Section Board Member of the Memphis Bar Association, he was responsible for formulating and giving seminars, procuring speakers and accommodations and working with vendors for annual review on bankruptcy law during a two-year term from 2017–18.  Mr. Webber has recently joined Lambda Alpha International, a society concentrating in land economics.

Mr. Webber has been a speaker/presenter at numerous seminars concerning bankruptcy and creditors’ rights given by the Memphis Bar Association Bankruptcy Section.  He has also been a joint presenter with his colleagues at the Barret School of Banking: one day course at Christian Brothers University on Creditors’ Rights topic of “How Good Loans Go Bad.” 2017–2020

Mr. Webber received his AB in History with and emphasis in Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN in December 1992. He participated in a study abroad program through University of Wales at Swansea, Wales, Great Britain, Fall 1991 where he was integrated with British students and traveled throughout Great Britain, France and Germany.  Mr. Webber received his JD from Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, University of Memphis, Memphis, TN in May of 1996. 

Mr. Webber is a lifelong Memphian. He and his wife of 29 years have two sons and a daughter. As a family they SCUBA dive and enjoy all things outdoors.
