Clayton C. Purdom joined Martin, Tate, Morrow and Marston in 2005. He received a bachelor's degree in accountancy and a masters in taxation from the University of Mississippi. He graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2005 with a juris doctor degree, where he was a member of the Mississippi Law Journal. Prior to joining Martin Tate, Clay was licensed in Tennessee as a certified public accountant in 2001 (currently inactive) and worked for KPMG, LLP in its auditing and assurance practice.

Clay practices in the areas of business planning and transactions, commercial real estate, securities, commercial lending and taxation. Since joining the firm, Clay has devoted the majority of his professional time to the negotiation and documentation of a variety of business transactions, ranging from the organization of start-up entitites to representing a group of investors in a large private placement securities offering. He also has considerable experience in representing borrowers and lenders in commercial loan transactions both asset and real estate based.

Clay is a member of the Tennessee, Mississippi, Memphis and American Bar Associations. He is currently on the board of directors of Blue Streak Scholarship Fund, Inc., an organization that raises scholarship money for the purpose of giving inner city children the opportunity to receive a private education in the Jubilee Schools of Memphis.
