Governor Appoints Martin Tate Attorney To Court Reporting Board

Earl W. Houston II, an attorney with the Memphis-based law firm of Martin, Tate, Morrow & Marston, P.C., has been appointed to the Tennessee Board of Court Reporting by Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen.

The new board was established by the Tennessee General Assembly earlier this year to oversee and maintain a standard of competency standard for court reporters. The seven-member board is charged with establishing qualifications and issuing professional licenses for court reporters. Houston is the only member of the Tennessee Board of Court Reporting from Memphis.

Court reporters transcribe court and trial-related proceedings and produce official documents of those proceedings.
