Martin Tate Attorneys Present Recent PILOT Changes

Local attorneys Harry Skefos and Liz Keough will present an update to the Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) program at the next MAAR Commercial Council Broker Forum. The Forum will be held on Thursday, October 15, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the MAAR Education Center, in Memphis, TN.

"Several significant changes have recently been enacted," reports Skefos. MAAR and Skefos have received calls from members trying to get a better understanding of all of these changes. The council determined that a forum would be an effective way to communicate all of the new information.

Skefos and Keough are attorneys with Martin Tate Morrow & Marston, PC . A significant portion of Skefos' law practice is devoted to obtaining PILOT incentives for clients. Keough practices in the area of commercial law with an emphasis in real estate, general business law, commercial litigation and tax incentive work, including working with the firm's Economic Development Section with the PILOT programs of the Shelby County, Tennessee Industrial Development Board.

The Forum is free for council members; $15 for non-members. Reservations may be made by e-mail (
melanie.blakeney@maar.org) or calling (901) 818-2428.
